Characteristics of Critical Thinking
To study this, we divided into small groups and talked about
the past and present status of the Sri Lankan cricket team. We asked ourselves
some questions: Why did it happen? What is the origin of this problem? How can
this problem be solved successfully? What actions have been taken for this? And
what other actions should be taken? We also shared our opinions and
perspectives on various issues related to cricket.
The discussion was very engaging and informative. I learned a lot from listening to different points of view and questioning my own assumptions. Everyone was passionate and respectful, even when they disagreed. Some people had more knowledge and experience than others, but they did not dominate the conversation. They explained their arguments clearly and patiently. Some people were less familiar with the topic but did not stay silent. They asked questions and expressed their curiosity.
As the discussion went on, I noticed that some people
changed their minds or modified their conclusions based on new information or
insights. I also realized that I was not always right and that I had not
considered many aspects of the problem before. I appreciated the constructive
feedback and criticism that I received from others.
By the end of the session, I felt more enlightened and open-minded. I realized that it is important to listen to other people's opinions and not to cling to one's own. I also learned that having a productive conversation about a controversial topic is possible without creating conflicts and interrupting others.
