Smart Thinking

Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog! Today I want to share with you what we learned in our group activity about the idea of "nearest school is the best school". This is a common belief that many parents and students have, but is it really true? How can we find out?

We tested this hypothesis using real data from different schools and neighborhoods. We looked at factors like distance, quality, diversity, and cost of education. We avoided making any assumptions or guesses based on our personal opinions or experiences. We only used facts and evidence to support our arguments.

Critical thinking involves evaluating beliefs based on facts and evidence, using reasons supported by evidence to support claims, and identifying arguments as groups of statements in which some premises support a conclusion. Inference is the process of reasoning from premises to a conclusion. It is important to distinguish between arguments and explanations, as arguments give reasons for believing that something is true, while explanations tell us why or how something is the case. Reasoning also helps us to make connections between things and understand their relationships through patterns such as similarity, difference, commonality, inconsistency, necessity, and sufficiency.
